Three years ago Dr. Heller has performed a hip replacement surgery on my left hip. The operation and post surgery recovery were a huge success. Now my other hip is exhibiting the same symptoms. I am eagerly awaiting time when I can have another operation (when it's bone on bone - not there yet) and finally tackle Mt. Kilimanjaro. Dr. Heller is a master surgeon.

I am writing this rating on behalf of my late mother. My mother had hip replacement surgery last May with Dr. Heller. After surgery my mother wasn't sent home because she could not feel her foot. Thinking the anesthesia hadn't worn off they decided to keep her overnight. The next morning I received a call from Dr. Heller and was told my mom still had no feeling in her foot, and that he had not seen anything like that before. Long story short, they had to reopen my mom the next day and I was told that when they had stitched my mom up the day of her initial surgery theyp caught her sciatic nerve. We were assured the nerve was not damaged and that my mom would eventually have feeling in her foot again. After her 1 month visit, my mom was told her nerve may never come back and as my mom cried, he had the nerve to tell her that at least her hip pain was gone. Our lives were turned upside down as my mother could not walk without a walker and could not climb stairs. We had physio come to the house and also paid for private acupuncture. My moms body started to deteriorate as each month passed as she was immobile. My mom slid off the sofa in October and hurt herself, because she had no feeling in her foot. She lay on the sofa for 3 months after her fall. She lost her appetite because she was in a deep depression. We took her to hospital for x-rays and were told everything was OK. However she had water in her lungs from lying on the sofa and her body was deteriorating because of her immobility. 4 days later my mother passed away. Their should be some accountability as a life was lost due to malpractice! Although my mother was just another number on his surgery list, she left behind a husband of 50 years, 2 children and 5 grandchildren! I would NOT recommend this Dr.
