I was admitted to St joesephs in Toronto for ECT for bi polar depression. I was originally supposed to get 6 to 8 treatments done but Dr younkers was persistent that I do another 6 to 8 treatments when the first initial treatments seemed ineffective. I agreed to it because she came off as professional and I put my trust into her. At treatment 13 she pulled the plug and gave me a misdiagnosis of borderline personality disorder and did not explain what that was or what treatments were available or even anything at all .... she just said her diagnosis was borderline and discharged me with no options to what I was to do next. My opinion and honest to God belief is that once she realized the absolutely terrifying experience I had in the two months I was in 7m (the psychiatric unit at St joes) is that diagnosing me with borderline personality was her way out of explaining why more ECT (electro convulsive therapy) was ordered when I was freightened to death because my memory was erased so badly that I couldn't even remember what it was like to be around my own daughter. Now I'm labeled as having BPD when I do not even have any symptoms of the disorder. Also her level of care declined dramatically over the two months week by week when she started to get to know me and about me and went from a smile and a "is this a good time to meet" to a blank look and a "are you ready to meet now". She went over my CBT book mind over mood (I'm convinced) not to help me with CBT but to get the dirt on me through the honest work I was putting into it .... personal things. I trusted her and she left me feeling judged. So now my memories are gone and I'm labeled as having borderline personality disorder because she wanted to save her own behind for ordering me more ECT when she should have pulled the plug in the first initial treatments. I bumped into her at St. Joesephs about two months later and the look and vibe from her made me feel so pathetic that I nearly quit the program I was in because I was so afraid to bump into her again. I was a role model patient in my two months at that hospital and didn't cause any problems to be treated this way. If you end up in 7M at St joesephs Toronto and get her as a doctor? Be careful. She's not what she at first seems.

I have been seeing Dr Younker for about 3 weeks while I've been an inpatient at St Joe's. I really like Dr Younker as she is personable and seems to care. She never rushes through the appointments and to be honest I couldn't remember anything and she never got frustrated with me ...

Accepted offerings from my family. Also refuses to admit to conflicts of interest even though they were reported. Costed me a lot of time and money for no good reason. I wouldn’t use this dr or hospital again. Amongst the worst.
