I'm so sorry for your loss. I had a blighted ovum that we didn't find out about until 10 weeks. Because my body hadn't nluartaly miscarried by then, my doctor was concerned about the risk of infection. I had also heard from friends that the miscarriage process was very painful and lonely. So, we chose a D&C. I think we would make the same decision should we be in the same situation in the future. The recovery was very short and painless, and I think that helped me gain some closure. The worst part for me was waking up in recovery and not having my husband with me. I remembered immediately what was going on, and I kind of freaked out. Luckily, the nurses were awesome and knocked me out for a few minutes until they could get me to the real recovery room where my husband was waiting.
