i went to him for a referral to have an abortion. he judged me, and tried talking me out of it. i am on 4 different medications for my mental illness, and cannot have an unplanned child or abruptly stop these medications. he told me that i could just stop all of my meds at once, and have the baby. after refusing his persuasions, and beginning to cry, he called up his WIFE at home and asked her if she knew where the nearest abortion clinic is. then, he asked her what was for supper. not to mention the fact that: he arrived 2 hours' late to the office. i was the second patient he saw after his arrival, and he was already in the attitude of having "worked too long" for that day. during our quick discussion, his daughter called on his cellphone and he spoke to her for about 5-6 minutes, arguing about her curfew. i was in his office for 10 minutes. 5-6 minutes, he was occupied with his daughter. the remaining minutes, he argued with me about my abortion, tried to get me to stop taking very high-dosages of meds that i have taken since 15 years old, and called his wife. anything else to say? i could continue. but i think this is enough. this man needs to retire. i can sympathize and say that he is tired, over-worked, and at the end of his rope. but what about the patients? when you are a doctor dealing with people who need you, you do not come first: they do. you leave your opinions (of abortion) and daughter problems at the door, and you deal with the person sitting in front of you, who waited 10 hrs to speak to you for 3 minutes. thank you.
