I went to this horrible person 2 years ago with critically damaged tendons and bursitis in both shoulders. She told me i was making it up and treated me like dog excrement on her shoe. When I shown her printout of an assessment from the ultrasound , which clearly identified 80% damage in both shoulders, she got furious I contradicted her opinion and stormed out of the room. After sitting there for 15 minutes of waiting for her to come back, I dressed-up and went to ask what was going on. One of assistants told me "I am sorry, you can leave ... she is not coming back." A year later, I was accepted for a surgery by Dr. Lo at Matrix clinic. He started with the left shoulder, less damaged but painful due to severe bursitis. As it turned out, besides torn tendons, my rotator cuff was almost destroyed and needed to be laced together with an anchor and 2 braided straps. Dr. Lo and the staff of Matrix clinic are amazing professionals. The surgery was a 100% success with only 3 months recovery. I am looking forward to get my right shoulder reconstructed this spring. As for Dr. Mrkonjic, she is an incompetent arrogant bully. Beware!

Summary: Excellent surgeon. Brutal bedside. Arrogant indeed. No empathy. Details: Good: Excellent orthopedic skills, excellent stitching up and excellent healing of the incisions. HOSPITAL staff was excellent. Bad: Hospital staff was scared to ask her questions. Her own clinic was scared to ask her questions or clarifications. She was rude to my visiting family (they're very timid people), to me most of the time, and even hospital staff while I was in hospital for 8 days. She refused to deal with severe pain management issues (T3's are NOT good enough for a shattered femur and fractured femoral head). She minimized my pain and extents of my injury (my wife is a nurse, so she knows). She bullied the clinic staff, she tried to bully me. Amongst the hospital staff she even has a bad reputation. She resented and got visibly agitated when asked questions or told her certain things were not working and why. Truly the epitome of "God complex" doctor. If you just sit there like a quiet mouse you may think she's wonderful, but open your mouth more than once then hang on. My physio even said some of the Dr.'s directions for muscular recovery were incorrect. I believe my physio based on ALL the other paramedicals/Docs that supported and were amazed at the work/results my PHYSIO had done on me. As a patient you have every right to ask for a different doctor. Many people do. If you have a choice, choose a different doctor. ALSO... if you have ANY injury - DO YOUR PHYSIO!!! DO YOUR EXERCISES!!! active recovery is fastest and most thorough.

I am a 67 yr old active ranch wife with 2 knee replacements and a history of paroxysmal atrial tachycardia controlled by beta blockers. Six months ago I was inadvertently hit by two bulls that started fighting and was knocked into a steel corner. I sustained a left radius fracture, and right femur fracture near the hip, both requiring surgical fixation. My concern was that I wouldn’t walk well again. Dr. Mrkonjic pleasantly assured me that if I walked well before, her goal would be to have me walking well again. I did not wait long for surgery, even though there was a bus roll over that had everyone very busy. Dr Mrkonjic found time to cheerfully monitor my progress and I was released within 6 days. I was very confident that I could easily contact her if necessary. She arranged for me to get my x rays at our local hospital and phone her and chat about the healing process. This saves me a long trip and time and it is a responsible use of our health care system. I am most grateful for the care I have received and feel I am walking pretty good.

I’m not offended or upset, but if I could swear in this review I would. She’s a female dog. Looks like one too. Seems to discount pain, and only cares about getting the patient in and out. I’ve seen countless negative reviews with this woman. It’s like she’s constantly PMSing, pretty weird. I’d avoid her if you could. She just discounts you, calls you weak if you struggle with the exercises she wants you to do, etc. It’s sad to see a doctor as insecure as this, in which she needs an ego boost from belittling her patients who are struggling. Poor thing. Get her some mental help.

Excellent surgeon. Very helpful and very approachable. Friendly and on point. Performed ORIF on my broken ankle and everything turned out exactly as she forecasted week on week.
