I drive from North Van to a clinic in Kerrisdale just to see Dr. Porter - it's well worth the trip for the care. Don't let Dr. Porter's appearance fool you - sweat pants, high top sneakers, hoodie, nose piercing - she is patient, listens, thorough, and leaves you feeling like are in good hands. She reminds gently of the importance of taking care of ourselves, and of those important checks-ups (mammograms, paps, physicals, etc.). My Dr. of 20+ years transferred her patients to a clinic where Dr. Porter is working. I had concerns at first with the clinic being further from home, and wondered if anyone could replace my "old" GP. My concerns have long been relieved. My only complaints are: 1) the clinic is further from home, and 2) the clinic is a busy place, so sometimes one has to wait a little longer to see the dr. even though one has an appt.
