Dr. Kurtz is the best. He is simply the most sympathetic and understanding doctor you could ever meet. I wish everyone could have a psychiatrist like this. I hope he never retires. This man has kept me sane.

Dr. Kurtz has outlined goals for me such as: using a workbook and has allowed me to sign up for his special meditation classes. I've had trust issues with previous Dr.'s regarding my depression and anxiety. However, with Dr. Kurtz I felt totally comfortable and trusted him right away. I look to the future hopeful that I'll finally be able to overcome my issues.

Dr. Kurtz is very caring, kind, empathic and easy to talk to. If it was not for him I would most likely not be here today!!

He is probably caring and empathetic to people he likes in his group I am a person of multi racial background. To keep this short I explained to him the issue I am having with family members because of the way turned out . You see he is NOT a medical doctor in the way to understand DNA so when one does not know that information one should not use your stereotypes to reinforce your beliefs. In Dna you get a random of 50 percent of your mothers genes and 50 percent of your fathers genes . Siblings also do not share the same percentages either . MY family is filled with medical doctors and many in the states who have gone to such accredited schools as princeton . After explaining my back ground he became quite upset ! He kept telling me their is no blacks in Brasil , That South America is a white country ! Which if he used his internet he could be informed more ! He decided to tell me I am not mixed . He demanded I tell him I was from a black country . Well a country he sees as Black . I said , " I dont know you tell me since you seem to think I am lying " He crossed his arm " in an aggravated look and said ,"NO! I am looking at you and I know what I see " Wow in this day and age a person who does not realize that you can not tell a persons Ethnicity by appearance alone ! Many people like myself exist . And even books have been written about it . He also seemed upset that my husband was Italian ! I did send a formal complaint ! Also pictures to show my family !!!! In my family majority look either Asian , hispanic or white . And if he want to say I am adopted then great . I went out and even got further proof with DNA tests. Both my parents are biologically my parents . According to my DNA I have 30 percent black in my genes . Which is the way it worked out I inherited more of those genes form my mother who it shows has just 10 percent more then me . Even with the results when it came in said I was majority Chinese ( others eth-mixes found was German , south american indian ,indian , pakistani and ( all which my family fully well know of and the only surprise was with further break down the portugese we thought was in us ...ended up showing as Sardinian . I went to discuss the effects of its had with the way my mother treats me and the way my oldest nephew laughs that he can lie and manipulate people to treat me because of their views on race!!! And not only did he refuse to change the subject after I refuse to let him tell me who I was as well but he just literally reinforced the things my mother and oldest nephew do to me .He told me to find someone else ( which was our first and last appointment ) and that I wholeheartedly agreed with . I have a family doctor also with the same name from when I was 3 years old !!! A physician with the same last name , so if he wanted to discuss how genes operate ( know problem I have my fav doctor from when I was a child and all the physicians in my family ) A professional should not use their stereotypes or speak as their knowledgeable on topics they do not know of . My previous therapist who was excellent had retired that is why I was referred to him . This will not allow me to place a star rating on him , but you can see I am not in favor of him having physical minorities to work with , with his outlook being that way
