My family physician set up an appointment with her Brampton facility. The appointment was for 1:00 pm and at 1:05 I was hurried out because they could not help me being that I was prepared to spend money on the plastic surgery and the firm did not want to get involved. I was really thrown when the advanced notice read that if I missed the appointment, there would be a $100.00 charge to me. The Ontario Government should look into doctors that say they are Specialists and charge for a 5 minute appointment. The doctor also said that there was no need for a family physician to make an appointment on my behalf. This is one reason our Medical costs are so high, how about if the patient is given that same $100.00 if the service is not what is expected, that would stop these medical marvels. I now, have to start all over again with my family doctor to seem another Specialist.

Did not bother to smile or offer any greeting, peevish and absolutely dismissive attitude from the beginning, careless assessment. Did not resolve the issue, ticked wrong boxes for requestition, went back to confirm and was ignored and brushed aside, did not correct the mistake, had to fix their error, very unprofessional. All around poor bedside manner. Absolutely no care in health care! Awful miserable human being. Horrified that she is an actual doctor.

Dr. Platt was amazing. Patient, kind and answered all of our questions before my surgery and called the day after my surgery to ensure I was recovering well and had no issues. Would definitely recommend to all my friends and family!!

I'm an OHIP patient of Dr. Platt and have seen her in the Brampton ofc as well as Humber River hospital. Although I've read many negative reviews about her receptionist, I had a great relationship with her. She returns my calls, albeit sometimes a few days later, and has always been able to accommodate me. I saw Platt for carpal tunnel surgery. There's a running joke in medicine (I've been an RN in a teaching hospital x 32yrs), "don't go to a surgeon expecting much empathy." Joke aside, that's absolutely NOT true for most surgeons but definitely factual for J. Platt!!! Cold, dismissive, abrupt, and rude are just a few of the words I'd use to describe her. It is interesting, however, to read the reviews from her non-OHIP patients having elective plastic surgery .... They obviously have had experiences with a clone that most of her patients do not. I had complications post-op with my sutures tearing on day 5. When I called her office, I found out she had gone on vacation the day after my surgery and left no one to cover her patients! Astounding, especially because she wasn't due to return for over a week after that call!! TG, I was able to clean my wound while also keeping it open to air. My many attempts at steri sutures were moderately unsuccessful - A bit challenging with one hand. By day 7, I noticed the wound looking red with unhealthy tissue beginning to appear. By the end of day 8, after seeing my fabulous GP, I was on antibiotics for the skin infection. To sum my experience up ... Upon seeing her two weeks after my infection, still with an open wound, she began to tell me that me living alone, without any assistance was no excuse for my sutures tearing. They opened up after my failed attempt at opening a water bottle. I silenced my inner bi!ch, as to not tear her a new a$$ho!e, and I never followed up with her again. A horrible, disgusting excuse for a doctor!!! Just horrible! Note: Two months later, my wound finally closed.
