While visiting the doctor for the first time, a period of approximately half hour to 45 minutes, almost half of that time, he spent in the open doorway of the office discussing another patient while I sat there, hearing the conversation! I found him to be condescending, dismissive and he conducted a very short, inadequate 'consultation interview', in which he did most of the talking. He expected that upon our first contact, I would just spill my difficulties in a few short minutes. From that, he made his diagnosis. I am an intelligent person and I was referred to him regarding a very significant life crisis; however, I left feeling degraded and with no inclination to return.

Dr. Rajendra was my (first) psychiatrist for over five years. Every appointment I would end up waiting for 1-2 hours to see him. When I'd ask his staff about the hold-up, they were annoyed and dismissive. He keeps his patients waiting for hours and then when I'd finally get in to see him he would rush me and seem distracted and disinterested throughout the appointment. When I'd try to open up to him or ask him for help he would always shoot me down and make me feel ridiculous for asking for any kind of extra support. I recall when I would try to explain to him problems in my life he would make me feel like they were my fault or I was blowing them out of proportion. He never made me feel like my perspective was valid - it was always his way or the highway. Very old school in his style - no awareness of LGBTQ+ issues. He would never remember what medications I take and the doses and I'd always have to remind him of my diagnosis. His manner was very short, brisk, and argumentative. Absolutely no bedside manner. I spent so many long, miserable hours in that awful waiting room at Kennedy and Eglinton with his staff totally ignoring me. When I'd get blood tests, he would always lose or misplace the results. Suffice to say, I had a horrible experience with this doctor. He is one of those doctors who has book smarts and made it through med school on his academic achievement alone. However, the way he shares his knowledge is very stilted, cold, robotic, arrogant, and impatient.
