I saw Dr. Patel for about three years. At first I thought he was a good psychiatrist, however my condition didn't improve so I sought other counselling services. My condition improved. I had another episode and I returned to see Dr. Patel and his attitude and behaviour towards me was very unpleasant. He would only see my for about ten minutes and provide little to no treatment or support. I was a 'bad' patient, due to the nature of my condition I was chronically late. However, I don't think that my chronic lateness warranted his treatment, especially because it is closely linked with the diagnosis he gave me. I have seen many other mental health professionals including psychiatrists who have echoed the above sentiment. I would recommend another psychiatrist on the basis that I have personally found all other mental health professionals and psychiatrists that I have seen to improve my condition much much more than Dr. Patel.
