Dr. Dickhout listened attentively to my medical problems and asked the appropriate follow up questions. She was very helpful in explaining and addressing my medical issues. She was polite and friendly. Will schedule appointments with her in the future.

I wish this website had existed to warn me about Dr. Dickhout when I was a frightened, upset, and newly pregnant nineteen-year-old undergrad student, because then I wouldn't have had to subject myself to her bullying and condescending behavior at an especially vulnerable moment in my life.

I went to Dickhout at u of t health services recently. Though she seemed knowledgeable enough, she was extremely abrasive, and did not respect my concerns, or make me feel safe and respected. Things I should definitely be able to feel when in the already somewhat vulnerable position of visiting the doctor. I went in with three health concerns, but by the end of the discussing the first two (in brief, as she wouldn't allow for more than that) I felt too uncomfortable to discuss my third issue. If you're wary of going to the doctor, or looking for someone sympathetic, I would definitely suggest you avoid Dickhout. The good news is that Dickhout was actually ready to see me earlier than my appointment had been scheduled, so I didn't have to sit in the waiting room at all, and was in and out of the clinic in under 15 minutes. As well, what she did prescribe for my first health issue worked, which, I guess, is a pro... Though, I tend to assume receiving the correct medication is a given when I see a professional doctor...

Early on in my academic career, I saw this Doctor twice. First time, she was randomly assigned and the second time was by mistake (I asked the receptionist to schedule me with who ever was available the soonest... big mistake). In both appointments she was cold and abrasive and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and judged. I would be able to forgive her terrible bedside manner if her medical advice were not poor and potentially harmful as well. I was in due to a terrible, lung ripping cough that I had had consistently for more than a month and was showing no signs of leaving. She hardly assessed me, other than looking into my throat and listening to my lungs and then proceeded to prescribe me antibiotics without even taking a swab to check and see if the infection was viral or bacterial... I'm not here to make any serious accusations about her medical competency but my experience with her (both times) was far less then good. This women just doesn't seem to care.
