Dr. Sobolev basically stated that he was not interested in helping me any longer. I didn't choose to become like this and he stated that there was nothing else he could do and walked out of the room. How do you think that makes a patient feel? No Dr. should ever say that they have given up on a patient because that makes the patient give up on themselves and anything can happen! I hope that one day he or someone in his family will feel some of the pain that I have experienced in my life. It might make him think twice before he leaves someone truly helpless like he made me feel!

He is a very cold doctor with no social skills. He is always rushing you out and I do not recommend you see him for pain management.

Dr Sobolov is the last doctor I'd ever goto in my life, After being diagnosed with HIV I was directed to goto him to get the pain in my feet under control. After completing at least a dozen sheets of my personal information this clown comes in and barely sits with me for 3 mins and fills out a prescription, which I told him I had been on before and it made me suicidal. Well he DENIDE me ever being on this drug so filled out the prescription and arranged for my to see one of their psychologists Tara. I went to the Rexall at the UofA and as luck would have it I got the same pharmacist that originally filled out this drug that made me suicidle. She printed of three forms and had me take them right back to Dr. Sobolov, as she refused to fill it (thank god for her). Went back to Dr. Sobolovs nurse and gave her the papers that she took in to him to see and out she comes with yet ANOTHER prescription. This prescription I was already put on by my Nephrologist. Apparently Dr. Sobolov can read as iI also had this drug listed on my forms I wasted filling out out for him before our first meeting. Then he sends me to this Physiologist "Tara", who said she had never dealt with a patient of my medical history, but stated in 10 visits she could "FIX" me as the pain was all in my head. Apparently Taras only ability is to read word for word off her power point presentation, because that's all she ever did and after wasting an hour of my time printed out the power point presentation and gave it to me and sent me on my way. I lasted only three of these sessions as I had better things to do then be read a story I could have done before hand, which she did refuse to email me before hand and going to see her. I personally think she gets paid only if a patient shows, which I did notice at every appointment there were A LOT on no shows. This after waiting 14 months to get into this place Then after 6 months with no communication from the Pain Clinic my specialist sends Dr. Sobolov a note asking what's going on, as I was keeping my specialist in the loop. Dr. Sobolov sent my specialist a letter which I happened to see well visiting another Doctor and took a picture of it. Dr. Sobolov stated from his April 7/17 visit with me the only drug I was on was Medical Marijuana. Apparently he's also very lax in looking up files in NetCare. My Medical Marijuana licences expired at the end of Feb/17 of this year and there was no mention of my HIV retro viral, which I take on a daily basis in order to stay alive, as well as three other medication. In this letter Dr. Sobolov also said "HE DENIES BEING AN ALCOHOLIC AND DRUG ABUSER". LOVE TO KNOW WHERE THAT THEORY COME FROM. I can give him a list of 50 people that would say I hadn't had a drink since I was 21, I'm now 47. I've never ever done drugs until I was told to try this Medical Marijuana. I asked Dr. Sobolov at our meeting on April 7/17 some other alternatives like burning my nerve endings. He said he does not have the ability to do any work on my pain. Why was I wasting my time here then? There fore I've wasted a year and a half with this know nothing Doctor, who shipped me off to another doctor. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE EVER GOES TO THIS PAIN CLINIC IN THE KAYE BUILDING, AS IT IS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND OUR TAX DOLLARS!!!!

Dr. Sobolev is a very caring Dr. open to any and all ideas to ease your pain . I was treated as quickly as he was able to get me in and found him and his staff as pleasant as one can be in that setting. I highly recommend Dr. Sobolev for all chronic pain management.
