The doctor is OK and is both a therapist + medical doctor. You can benefit from the medical knowledge of the doctor on your prescription. But he does talk a lot more than listen to the patient. The clinic is a free service covered by OHIP and you may get similar therapist even if you pay for the service. Make best possible use of the free service.

When seeking psychiatry services, one main thing that people don't realize, and I can tell by the comments on this page, is that you must be ready to WORK to get yourself into a better state. If you expect the doctor to cure you of you issues that will not happen. Their role is to guide us through the healing process. Dr. Pazionis, I feel, is a very knowledgeable medical doctor. He continuously pursues new research studies and shares his information wisely. Yes, I agree that he does not sugar coat his comments, and he shouldn't. It is OUR problem that we don't want to accept reality, and that is the first step. Yes, as someone mentioned on this page, he will tell you that you need to deal with your fears/anxiety etc, because that is the truth. We give fears, thoughts, dreams power by thinking of them constantly and fearing them. By learning to accept what is happening without fear is the road to recovery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Pazionis as a psychotherapist to those who are ready to change their life around and accept the truth. For those who wish to be placed on a magic pill that will solve the world around them, this is not the doctor.

WORST. DOCTOR. EVER. Please for your own good, stay far far away. He is rude, arrogant and was completely unhelpful. I HAD to go see him because I needed help with anxiety and I couldn't afford to pay for it. My doctor sent me a referral to this "doctor' and I went once and couldn't believe how horrible he is. First off he was late, even know I was told that if I was even 5 minutes late the doctor would not see me. When I went in, he spent the the first 10 minutes saying that if I ever cancel with less then 48hrs notice he will NEVER see me again, no matter what the reason was. He was on the phone for at least 15 min, he handed me a photocopy from a text book and said read this and asked me to keep questions to a minimum. He absolutely does not care about his patients and only cares how much he can bill ohip. This is what our tax dollars are paying for. DISGRACEFUL!!!

I like his no nonsense approach.... It is very refreshing to have a doctor that is not there to sugar coat the situation, but tells you why it is happening and how to fix it. If you are seaching for a doctor that is going to think for you, this doctor is not for you, he is there to help you see the soluation not give it to you. Therapy or Treatment, is a partnership with your doctor, so treat it as such.
