Family of Goldie Jackson
This doctor, while head of Family Practice medicine at Toronto General Hospital, refused to prescribe mammograms for our 70 year old mother, his patient for decades, telling her that breast cancer was not possible at her age. Then, when she complained to him that her arms and legs had become pencil-thin while her abdominal area had expanded by 4 dress sizes, he refused to order an MRI. Instead he advised her to lay off the potato chips. She died a painful and needless death due to undiagnosed and untreated metastatic colon cancer which her surgeon said she had had for 7 years. Dr. Hardacre had never ordered a screening colonoscopy for her. When our mother was in TGH recovering from GI surgery for the cancer Gordon Hardacre never visited her, despite the fact that his office was down the hall from her hospital room. Gordon Hardacre's medical care of our mother was beneath contempt and outside of all 20th century standards of medical practice. Our report on Gordon Hardacre's care of our mother: Quality of service. 0/10 Competence. 0/10 Compassion. 0/10 Medical knowledge. 0/10 Trustworthiness. 0/10 We are extremely grateful and relieved that Gordon Hardacre is no longer able to practice medicine.

Rating Gordon Hardacre on behalf of my mother. She was his patient for over 20 years. He was excellent at saving the province of Ontario money. He never ordered a mammogram for her. He told her women in their 60s do not need one as they do not get breast cancer. Gordon Hardacre also never ordered a colonoscopy for my mother. She developed colon cancer which went undetected until it had metastasized throughout her entire body. She died a very painful death from it at age 79.
