I was cautioned about Dr. Koponen's bedside manner by my family physician before I went to see her. I was also told that she was the best. I am not looking for a shoulder to cry on I am looking for answers to a possible neurological problem that is effecting my life. She is to the point and very knowledgeable. If you want your hand held then go some where else.

I have been seen this Doctor I believe since 2010 when I first met here was not impress with her attitude at all ask my doctor to refer me to someone else but instead was told yes she is some what harsh but very good at what she do I took my doctors advise as he is one of the nicest person you could find. After going back I decided to take a different approach I was there to get answer and if she is good as they say she is then I needed to find out. This is the way I see it she is human just like us and if I needed answer I ask her in her office not in the waiting room and I let her know that, if I want the people in the waiting room to hear then I stay there, but we all have a right to what we need others to hear and what we need to just be between one self and the doctor. Got my answer and my treatment, if I did not understand some thing I ask for simple explanation and clarification and I get it, so just be patient with her and just be greatfull you are not in her shoe you don't know what she is going through. Be Bless

I was referred to Dr. Koponen due to her quick availability vs most neurologists. This was a huge mistake. Her office is a disaster, her bedside manner atrocious, she is rude when you ask questions or for more information, she discusses aspects of testing and medication while standing in front of other patients waiting, and she refuses to see patients outside of her own predetermined monthly shcedule, regardless of whether test results are available sooner. Seeing Dr. Koponen was the worst mistake I could have made in understanding and treating a possible neurological condition. Stay Away.
