My father went in with difficulty breathing and failing kidney function due a cancer caled myeloma. My dad never took but she decided to give him a very high dose of heperin. My dad developed internal bleeding for about a week, so we called his own cardiologist who asked her to take it off him. My dad's health went from unwell to dying. This Doctor asked me if I wanted my father saved if his heart stops and I said yes. She was horrified.I noticed that she was discusing my father in the room as if he wasn;t present to another physician called Dr Shetty. They both agreed out loud that he was delussional when I interrupted them and said no he simply wants to go home even if it means dying there. These physicians lake any way or form of dealing with patients. Dr Poohani has 5 years experience she shouldn't have taken over my dad's case with little knowledge.

She handled my father's kidney failure and heart trouble with blood thinners for 7 days untill he bleed internally and died. We were there thinking it was kidneys and she seemed to focus on his lungs because of his copd and decided to give him that blood thinner. We summoned his cardiologist who told her to stop the heperin, but he died at 76 after spending 10 days in that hospital. How come someone like that with very little knowledge is able to treat complicated cases????

My really good friend was put in Dr.Pohani's care at NYGH. Dr. Pohani was incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgable when it came to my friends rare condition. He is fighting an extremely rare cancer with tumors all throughout his body. Although his oncologist said that there were no more treatments that would help him in Canada & my friend had comes to terms with the idea of death, Dr. Pohani helped him feel comfortable and was able to brighten his day whenever she came by to see him. While he stayed at NYGH, his friends were able to find him a doctor overseas that said he had a chance at life with their treatment. When we received this news Dr. Pohani was extremely helpful in ensuring he had all the records he needed, went over the risks of going overseas and even worked with the Hospitals Social worker to help us set up the Medical Escort that was required for the flight. My friend is now has a second chance at life which wouldn't have been possible without the support and help Dr. Pohani provided.
