Dr. Maistrelli operated on my knees and did a total of 3 knee replacements, followed by the amputation of one of my legs due to infection. Although I approached Dr. Maistrelli over a year before having to have my leg amputated and showed him a very bad sore on the lower leg where the incision stopped, he did not consider infecction and told me to see my dermatologist. After months of having the "sore" treated by someone else it was decided that Dr. Maistrelli would go in and check the knee. He found it totally infected and the whole knee had to be taken out and a splint put on. 5 months later after being on 3 intravenous medications it was decided that the leg had to come off to save my life. During that time an infection doctor had been called in and he said he wished he'd been called in sooner. So do I. I complained to the board of Physicians and Surgeons but he was exonerated.

Awesome Dr. His OR skills are superior. His bedside manner - excellent. He listened and fixed the problem. I wish I would have gone much sooner. Would go back to him in a heartbeat. Highly recommended. Very happy I was referred to him. It was worth the 2 & 1/2 hr drive. and 10 month wait.

Excellent surgeon! He has doen surgery on both of my knees and the results were great. Very, very short recovery time. In and out of the hospital in a matter of hours, and walked out both times.
