Patients who are brought to the hospital in an unconscious, semi-conscious, comatose condition don't know where they are, they don't know who they are, they don't know who the people around them are. They don't know a tube is being inserted between their legs, they don't know an intravenous needle is being inserted in their vein. Patiewnts who are brought to a hospital in this condition are in shock. Their hearts are racing. Patients want an introduction from doctors. Telling patients where they are, who the people around them are, a tube is being inserted between their legs, an intravenous needle is being inserted in their vein is treating patrients the same way you want to be treated.

It was almost 25 years ago that I had a left temporal lobe lobectomy performed by Dr, Francis LeBlanc of Calgary. Every day I am so thankful for his dedication. I have been seizure free for all of these years. Dr. LeBlanc ... my dream to become a nurse did come true. It took a lot of hard work ... but it did come true. I hope some day that I can thank you in person. Bless you!

In 1989, Dr Leblanc performed a chymopapain injection on my back for a herniated disc L 4-5. The procedure was not effective, in fact I was barely able to walk. When I came back for a follow up appointment, he told me he didn't understand why this was not efficacious. He wrote in my chart that I presented myself with what he claimed were psychosomatic overtones. I went to see a neurosurgeon in Kingston and he did an mri and found that the disc was totally prolapsed and was severely effecting the nerve roots. I immediately had a L 4-5 s1 spinal fusion . Chymopapain was discontinued in 2003.
