I.m an ADD. I have general depression and anxiety. I interrupt and I'm aggressive and I'm always alert to catch ppl ripping me off.But when he starts talking, the whole world is peaceful, he is so enlightening and cute like a grand pa...This man has shown me a different world. he is calm, patient, and very peaceful. by just reading over a report for a few seconds, he can define the side stories as exactly are yours, like he knows you and he knows whats happening to you and he knows how it feels like to be in that situation I find him absolutely reliable and knowledgeable, I guess with 50 years of practice he should be,, prescriptions he has provided me has made me a better person, for real and I owe it to him, he is the best Dr I have ever been to in my life. as simple as that.

Dr. Arfai was one of the best things that ever happened to me. He treated me with respect, clarity, insight, kindness, gentleness, and experience. I will forever be indebted to him for helping me through the most difficult part of my life.

Just a patient
I have ADHD, the doc went through all the test required and gave me my needed meds. The medication works so I thank him for that. But I definitely wouldn't ask him to provide any psychological help. I have a lot of psychological issues and know he won't be able to help me cause he never asks the right questions to get me to talk. Good thing that's not what I really need him from him, i just need to be ale to focus and for now that's one step a head of where I was. I have suicidal thoughts but so far I'm able to control them, the Ritalin helps I guess. But the depression is still there... Sigh

Unhappy Patient Made Worse
I have been visiting Dr.Arfai since summer 2011 due to chronic depression, anxiety and severe panic attacks. He put me on a medication which lead me to having extreme side effects such as nausea and vomiting as well as dizziness. He never warned me about the medication however I went back to him and he finally changed the medication and prescribed a new anti-depressant that had been launched in the market. After approximately 3 weeks of intake, it started giving me the same nauseous symptoms. BUT... this is not the main/only issue. The main issue is that he NEVER listens to what I have to say about my mental situation. I have only been under treatment for about 4 months and EVERYTIME I see him(which is once a month) he constantly keeps talking about how he does not want to fill up my insurance firms from work and keeps trying to forcefully send me back to work. I am also regularly attending psychotherapy and my whole psychotherapy team says that I am not ready yet. A few lines that I write here isn't enough to express what I am going through now. Only the ones who suffer will understand. My insurance company called me and stated that Dr Arfai had already sent them a return to work report. I mean how on Earth could he simply judge and say that a mentally ill person has been cured within a few months where the patient himself KNOWS FOR SURE and FEELS FOR SURE that he is not ready yet??? And to add up to that, this doctor even shows me other patients' files just to prove he has too much on his plate to write my report to the insurance company and any parties inquiring about my diagnosis...which of course is unethical according to any medical regulations. I am looking for other channels for HELP. I am being kicked back into a deeper abyss of depression that being hauled out of it. Just as I thought I started to see light at the end of the tunnel, the floodgates are being shut down on me.

Has been an absolutely life line. Any delays in appointments have been a result of the incredible shortage of psychiatrists. Very empathetic and understanding of the particular challenges of individuals in a high profile position.
