Dr. Elaine was my doctor for over 20 years and I will miss her terribly. Doctors are human also and not gods so she has her medical issues but she was always professional and gave her patients ample time and was very thorough not to mention how smart she is. The staff at the Thorold Clinic were not her staff and were rude and unprofessional not Dr. Atkinson's fault at all. For all the negativity good luck finding a doctor as there is a shortage of doctors in this area!

former patient of over 15 year
oh my god. do not become a patient. everytime i went into her office with something wrong she always acted like i was making it up. According to her there was never anything wrong with me. I was in so much pain and this became very frustrating for me and my family. I could never get an appointment. If you called it would be 2-3 weeks before i could get in to see her. Then i would sit in the waiting room for at least 3 hours each time. It was BULL. Her secretaries always would tell me " just go to the walk in clinics ", with absolutley no sympathy. Like hello, i should be able to see my actual doctor once in a while if something is wrong with me. I would get called into the little rooms they put you in, and i'd be sitting in there for like 45 minutes. You literally have to take the entire day off work just to talk to her for 10 minutes. I do not like her personality either, she sucks, she sucks soooooooooo bad !!!!

Dr. Atkinson has been my physician for more than 10 years. She is smart and knowledgeable of current Canadian Guidelines for Managing different disease states- like hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, etc.

Staff insert their comments into the patients business by telling them what they need to have done when patients call to make an appointment for something else, then they go to the doctor and tell her that the patient has been rude. Then the doctor takes the word of the staff and doesn't even speak to the patient to hear from them what might have happened. The wait for an appointment is anywhere from 2 to 3 1/2 hours.
