mother

Upon entering the examination room after a 4 hour wait with my child, the Doctor looked tired. I said "hello" she dropped her arms and head down making a noise of annoyance. I asked if she was having a long day. She replied "No, too many English today" My daughter looked at me realizing this was not kind to say. As I was there to have my 11 year old daughter's back looked at, I let it go and spoke French to the best of my ability to the doctor. My French is not 100% and in these situations, I want to ensure I understand what is being said. She was rude, short and condesending. I managed to obtain a requisition for an xray to rule out any fractures. Given she did not provide me with a treatment plan when I asked her if not a fracture, what do we do, it's been 2 weeks she responded "she is not a proffesional hockey player, she will have to wait until it heals" I informed her our daughter is in training 4 days a week, add games and tournaments and her athletic school this fall, I need to rule out any possible injuries. She put her arms up in the air asking why I did not see a family doctor or do we not have one. I replied that her back seemed to be getting better but this week it began hurting again when she tried to get into her regular activity and our specialist we see for injuries was away but suggested the xray. She then questioned who he was and sarcastically said well he isn't a physiotherapist. I repied that I never said he was, but he treats her and myself. I lost all confidence in her. I asked the radiologist to forward her xrays to our family doctor to look at. I did file a complaint formally with the hospital. Very dissapointed that a doctor could not put her personal opinions aside to help a child, and openly say such a thing in front of a child. Unproffesional. The last question asked is not applicable in this situation but had to be answered to submit.
