I received excellent care from Dr Lawson. I felt heard and he didn't try to push medication. He was good at providing a social worker and a pharmacy team on my behalf. Thank you

Dennis Lawson survivor.
Apparently I am not co-owner of my house yet. :-) Correction, I was given a dose up to 450 mg of clozaril which was not the maximum dose of clozaril I just found out, but far too much for me given my side effects. Lawson coldly dismissed my complaints. I was kept by Lawson in HICU for 41 days not 42. I have the appeal committee as my witness as to my affect, my lucidity, and my calm behavior when Lawson stated that I was still sick as well as one nurse as my witness when I confronted Lawson in the HICU patient room about his statement to the appeal committee. I am still traumatized by my memory of my experiences with Dennis Lawson. I still have nightmares about it.

Dennis Michael Lawson scares me. He is the worst psychiatrist I have ever encountered. He is the psychiatrist assigned to inpatients at Royal University Hospital. He is a narcissistic bully, a pill pusher, as well as dishonest. I recount incidents of my hospitalisation under him with trepidation. He dosed me to the maximum of clozaril. I complained about the side effects. His reply was always, "I want to see your blood serum level in an acceptable window in your chart." Once he kept me in HICU for 42 days without a hope of upstairs privileges. He rarely saw me - five minutes every three days, but ordered an clopixol acuphase injection for me routinely to control my argumentative behaviour. Once I complained to the Ombudsman that he ordered a haldolperidol injection for me which has hideous side effects. The Ombudsman negotiated with the Hantleman to get the injection switched to the lesser acuphase. He LIED to the appeal board about my recovery in that I was still sick. I said to him calmly in the patient room, "You look into my eyes and tell me that I am sick." He said, "You are sick." He also said, "I WOULD CONSIDER YOU TO BE LESS SICK IF YOU DID NOT TALK TO THE OTHER PATIENTS." He attempted to erode my confidence by saying that I was kicked out of almost every apartment agency in Saskatoon, and that nobody would accept me and I was running out of options as to where to live, and that I should be very worried. Then he walked away. Well it so happens I am co-owner of my house. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PSYCHIATRIST FOR ANYTHING. If you are admitted to Royal University Hospital, you do have a choice now in who is assigned to you.
