I was assessed by Dr. Bruinsma on March 19, 2016 for a UTI. He prescribed a 4-day antibiotic that didn't cure the UTI. Went back the following week and he prescribed another antibiotic which seemed to have solved my problem. Dr. Bruinsma told me that my urine specimen was being cultured, but no result was available yet. Wasn't Dr. Bruinsma required to inform me, when available, of the positive result for ESBL infection??? I may have infected a lot of people in 5+months. When I was about to have Cataract surgery on August 29, 2016, I was put in isolation and bumped to the end of the day because I didn't have a subsequent "negative ESBL test result". VERY UPSETTING.

Our experience w this dr is we did not feel heard but dismissed and sent bck home from emerg - child complaints of shortness of breath, stomach pain and extreme chills. This child is T1DM and has a long hx of complications.- was also had a major infection in his body - instead of taking the time to look at the bigger picture we were dismissed and sent home as "fine". Back an hour later w my child in severe DKA, I had to demand the on call pead be called - we were then sent to pur primary hospital ICU then sent to London. He attempted an IO which failed and is quite painful to get. Not happy w our treatment. Friendly but more concerned about how we "got off on the wrong foot" then anything else. Pts need to be listened to and heard, we were not at all.
