After having my referral lost by my family Doctor for 12 months and already having surgery by another practicing physician in the same office, Dr K got right to it. My appointment was speedy and very supportive. My procedure was on time and very quick turn around. He found issues and took the time to resolve them while caring for me. I probably slowed his schedule down that day. Who knew I was hemorrhaging? My appointment after gave me options and guidance and he took the time to review the report and show me pictures of what he found and did. Unlike most specialists he offered a follow up after prescribing meds to help me. I have sense referred him to others many times. Thank you Dr. K

I got lucky...Dr Kottachichi was called in at GGH to help identify the source of an internal bleed for my Mother who suffered a catastrophic stroke a little of a year ago. She can barely speak and is fed thru a PEG tube. It has been hard to find proactive care and hospitalists/specialists who listen and who will find creative solutions to ongoing problems. Dr. K is that Doctor. I can't even begin to describe how much he has helped my mother and by extension...helped me as daugher/POA/advocate. Our phone consultations regarding my Mother's health issues added up to HOURS not minutes (sounds impossible doesn't it?)... By the time I officially 'met' him during a follow up visit at his office with my Mother it was more like a reunion with a trusted friend or colleague with all matters related to his area of specialty resolved and resolved well. Trustworthy, personable, way beyond competent....I would never hesitate to trust him with my life and the lives of those I love. Thank you Dr. K. for all you have done for me and mine. Oh and thank you in particular for providing so much understanding and compassion to my Daughter who currently caught in the drawn out cycle of diagnosis by exclusion. With two young children and all the usual stress that goes with thirty-something (mortgages etc) your supportive manner provided her with additional inner-strength to carry on and persevere.

I met With Dr Kottachchi today after colonoscopy & gastroscope. I’m 72 yr old, experienced RN still active, and I have Never been treated so badly by a Dr in my life as today. He aggressively accused me of having an anxiety problem that I should be treated for by my physician, told me I was living alone till I replied I was married, then said my husband should be present with me then. He constantly looked at his Apple Watch and was distracted. He accused me of being distracted, not listening and wanting an instant answer. I said I heard everything he said and could verbally regurgitate it, which I did in part. I was polite, attentive and looking for his advice and solutions. He also ranted about he regretted taking referrals and was going to stop and there were patients dying with cancer that he could help instead of treating minor ailments like mine. Later, he phoned me at my home. He did not apologize but said he looked at my test results and realized I had serious IBS and serious diverticulitis problems. He needs a medical review. Prevention solves problems. I am very upset with my unprofessional appointment today.

Excellent caring doctor who listened to our concerns and promptly got my father a diagnosis. Although we dreaded the worst scenario of a cancer and he was suffering from pain, Dr. Dan got him the home care he needed in the end. The team at hospice was also great.
