Dr Elkhuizen has the capability to be a great doctor. However her money greed by terminating office staff, attempting this same day booking system, is unheard of elsewhere, because it doesn't function for patients. Here is the scenario. You are sick in bed all night and cannot sleep due to vomiting or hacking with a nasty cough. Finally at about 6-7:00 AM you get to sleep. You attempt to make an appointment with Dr Elkhuizen and you start at tempting to make an appointment with the Clarks$^^^& Md77522 Cl77717 (you can't understand what the receptionist says with her quick tongue and heavy accent). At 8:30 sharp you dial the office number and you get busy. At 8:32 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:34 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:36 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:38 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:40 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:45 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:47 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:49 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:53 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:54 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 8:58 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 9:02 you hit redial and get a busy signal. At 9:05 you hit redial and get an answer like the one above. The receptionist takes some basic information and tells you to call tomorrow as they are filled up today "Can I make an appointment for tomorrow?". "No. You have to call tomorrow." Tomorrow the same thing happens, again. You listen to their telephone options to hear times. Turns out Carola dear, is away for the rest of the week and part of next week. This was the same thing that happened last year when trying to make an appointment. Last visit, I asked about more Xrays since I haven't had any for my progressive condition for five years now. "What for" and "So what if it is worse?" come back. Now we don't need physical exams anymore Not required when your over 60 I suppose? Now with the new attitude adjustment emanating from that office instilled by the latest OHIP threats we have had enough of the "Patients Come Last" attitude by Dr. Elkhuizen and starting to look elsewhere for a doctor that actually wants to treat patients, not just take the money from our roster enrollment on the OHIP list. Renewing prescriptions: This happens frequently. Zero repeats on a habitual prescription requires an OK from the prescribing doctor. No problem, the pharmacy faxes the Clarks^^&5757 Me642390 Off7768 and two weeks later you go in to the pharmacy and receive. "We have nothing for you. Your doctor's office never responded". This is not a rare happening. This is the usual. We have had this happen almost a dozen times over the last 6-7 years. I have changed pharmacies several times and the same thing happens. This woman just doesn't care in what looks to be committing professional suicide. Maybe she just wants to stay home?? Too bad. I like her, she was good looking, and friendly too My advise to anybody utilising this Dr. is to run away as fast as you can. Once I get another doctor I will gladly offer my name and contact information.
