I saw this doctor today and was so impressed with the amount of time given to me and his knowledge. I'm always grateful to find competence and a good bedside manner in a specialist. Very impressed.

Dr.Ernst literally saved my life. Although I was monitored by the high risk pregnancy clinic, I was in and out of ER every 1-2 weeks. After I had a PICC line put in, I was experiencing chest pains and trouble breathing. Despite how ER found my D dalmer results to be in the 3000s (1000 is normal in pregnancy), both ER and high risk didn't refer me for CT scan but I was referred to Dr.Ernst due to anemia. When I had my first appointment with him, he immediately indicated his concern about blood clots because of the D Dalmer score, got me in for blood tests, and got me in for iron infusions. He also tried to get me in for leg Doppler and mentioned I needed a CT scan if it was negative. The cardiopulmonary clinic said "they didn't think it was an emergency" and wouldn't give me an appointment for 2 weeks. When I went to high risk the next day, I pressed for immediate attention regarding the possibility of blood clots after talking to a doctor friend. The OB not only refused and ignored what I shared about Dr.Ernst's concerns, she rebuked me for talking to another doctor, dismissed the D Dalmer scores, and tried to send me to the mental health clinic for anxiety attacks. I went to ER anyway and RAN into Dr.Ernst there who was immediately outraged, concerned, talked to the ER doctor personally and immediately, and took over my care. They found blood clots in my lungs that could have killed me at anytime. Dr.Ernst is a busy guy, but he DOES place patient health as his priority and he was the only doctor that fought for me.

He is less interested in finding out the root cause of my problem. Not a good listener as he is always rushing me while am still trying to make a point. It's either he is too busy or he is not just interested in treating people.

Not Impressed with Service

Doctor Ernst was too interested in the Women's Hockey final than to be a doctor and attend to me as a patient. He was very rushed and quick and made me feel that I was bothering him. I would have gladly waited for the Hockey final to be over and then be dealt with because then I would have had his undivided attention.
