Very nice and patient. Explained to me all the details about my foot problems as a result of gout attack and formulated a treatment plan. Provided possible outcome from the treatment. Really professional!

This physician is so bad I thought someone was playing a joke on me when I met with her for my consultation. I've taken a week or so to gather my thoughts, because when something so out of the box happens, I want to make sure I have the facts down before I share. It was that much of a bizarre experience. Having been diagnosed with lupus over 20 years ago, I recently moved back to the area and was referred to Dr. Liu by my GP, saying the wait times to see her were much shorter than other Rheumys. That should have been my first clue. Without even looking at me, or my test results, she immediately dismissed me as having other issues, and not lupus. She would ask me a question and then interrupt the answer. When she finally quietened enough to hear the answer she would repeat it a minute later, but it would be wrong. She ignored my symptoms, and even intimated I wasn't telling the truth. I have never, ever, had a Dr.s appointment be so frustrating. She completely ignored my symptoms, when I told her I was going to flare soon and already had a horrible headache, she told me she would refer me to an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor for sinus problems. Even when I showed her the definitive blood test results showing a positive lupus, she refused to accept it. I'm still so absolutely blown away by this doctor's incompetence, and unwillingness to help. It's like she has this strange attraction to watching patients suffer. I can't explain it except to say this woman is definitely working in the wrong profession.

Having read a very negative review of Dr. Liu on this website I was very apprehensive, and frankly scared, when I first met her. However I was desperate. I needed an injection of cortisone in my left index finger and was facing a long wait for any other doctor that could do the job. So I gritted my teeth and went to see her. She was excellent. A nice person. She calmed my fears, was attentive, knew what to do, a complete opposite of what the negative review had said. The site of the shot of cortisone was sore for quite some time. That's normal. But now, the finger is working again and the relief is amazing. I play music, and it's very important to my quality of life that my fingers work. From conversations with other doctors, I've since heard that the composition of the muscles, tendons, sheathes, bones etc. that make up the hand is quite complicated. Not every doctor is capable of giving this shot correctly. Dr. Liu did it perfectly the first time, and I'm very thankful that she did. Based on my experience, I recommend her highly.
