Excellent doctor. Very knowledgeable. I would like to respond to the other patient who suggested that preventative treatment should be prescribed for cataracts. There is NO scientific evidence whatsoever that indicates vitamins or nutritional supplements can delay the progression of cataracts. This evidence exists for macular degeneration only. As such, it is not standard of care to recommend vitamins for cataract prevention.

I was very happy with the examination and competent professional manner of Dr. Bhargava. I was diagnosed with early stages of cataracts, and told there was nothing I could do beyond using eyedrops until the condition warrants surgery. However, I would like to suggest that some preventive advice be given to all patients in the early stages of this condition. There are a number of dietary and vitamin/mineral supplements that should be taken that might very well halt the degeneration of the eyes. Shouldn't modern medicine should be geared toward prevention rather than surgical intervention?
