Tooday is the five year anniversary of the 5x bypass surgery performed on me by Dr. Ralph-Edwards. I echo all of the positive accolades mentioned by other reviewers, with the additional comment that his work has withstood the test of time. I got a new lease on life from this surgery, and he was the (obvious) driving force behind it... not only in the operating room, but in his counsel before and after the procedure. Should everyone who ever finds themselves in a similar situation receive something close to his level of service and expertise.

I had the privilege to be having 2xbypass and myopathy surgery on May 16th,2014 performed by a brilliant man and doctor Anthony Ralph-Edwards. I could not have wished for a better surgeon, who prepared my case with utmost care and assurance and executed the surgery and pre and post-op care with a truly caring, friendly and loving attitude that I expect another surgeon would show his own mother or other elder close relatives. My recovery is still happening, but just 2 weeks after such a huge undertaking by all involved I can not sometimes believe the speed and comfort of my daily progress. I am thankful to have found myself in his capable hands at the moment when I most needed him and will always consider that I will celebrate my new birthday every May 16th thanks to Dr. Anthony Ralph-Edwards and his team.

Simone and Simon McNichol

I am so grateful that I read these reviews before Simon had his quadruple bypass surgery on July 22/13. They helped to reassure us that he was in good hands. And I must say this is an understatement. Dr. Ralph-Edwards has such a calming presence and caring spirit our fears seemed to melt immediately upon meeting him. He was very professional and yet down to earth with a sense of humor. So I thank those who posted the previous reviews about this wonderful, human being..And I sincerely hope that you will receive peace knowing that you are truly blessed to have him and the incredible team that works with him at Toronto General Hospital....Simon was up and walking in 2 days and 2 weeks later is like a new man...No more nitro patch, no more angina after walking or meals. And we are both losing weight thanks to our new-found interest in healthy eating and exercise.

Dr. Edwards has just recently performed open heart surgery involving aortic valve replacement along with replacement of the ascending aorta. The first time we met him, he immediately conveyed confidence and professionalism. Without saying much, he managed to put the family at ease and we knew right away that we were in good hands. After the surgery, he came to visit the family to let us know that the surgery went well. He said this and made it seem like it was just another day at the office...thank you for saving my fathers life-our family can't thank u enough.

I knew Tony for about a year and all I can say is he is one fine surgeon: dedicated to the principle of patient first! It was a pleasure to work with him and to see an expert at work.
