I had abdominal hernia repair surgery (Jan. 04, 2016). Surgery went well and incision healing satisfactorily. An unexpected post-operative urinary retention problem remains even after hospital stay and several multi-day periods of catheterization. A word of warning to older men undergoing abdominal hernia surgery - make sure that you are able to void your bladder completely before discharge from hospital - or you will find yourself in ermergency as balloon man.
