I end up waiting for ridiculous periods of time to see Dr. Nevin Lam & the appointment lasts about 5 minutes. She rushes through the appointment & doesn't take the time to answer any questions. As for child birth, she indicated to me that any available physician at the hospital would be the attending physician which is disappointing considering the random available doctor wouldn't have a clue about my prenatal care or situation. She told me that this is how it's always done and the prenatal care physician is RARELY the attending doctor - strange considering ALL my friends and family (aside from one friend who had her child prematurely in the US) had their OB as the attending doctor. Recently, she took a vacation and had her partner take her appointments. I was shocked that she or her receptionist failed to bring this to my attention earlier since when I MADE the appointment a month ahead of time as I made it clear that I'd come in on the earlier day (no matter how inconvenient it was to rearrange my work schedule) so I would catch her BEFORE her vacation. The replacement dr was also very condescending when answering my questions. He was unprofessional and I'm very disappointed with the way I was treated. As for her receptionist, she never seems to be able to follow instructions from Dr. Nevin Lam. I once had to remind her that I have not been checked in yet since she asked me to wait for a "moment" (which to her apparently means over 15 minutes) and seemed to have forgotten about me. . She rolled her eyes instead of apologizing. I ended up switching OBs. This is my first child and I want a doctor who will actually be there for me through the whole pregnancy and will actually answer my questions and concerns.

LORENZINI PAOLA
SHE PERFORATED MY UTERUS. UNCARING AND LACKS EMPATHY. I WAS EXPECTED TO SIGN CONSENT PAPERS WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION OF POTENTIAL RISKS AND WITHOUT DR. BEING THERE. DR. LAM NEVIN STATED SHE PERFORATED MY UTERUS APPROX. ONE CM. WHEN I ASKED HOW DID IT HAPPEN. SHE REPLIED: IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES. WHEN ASKED HER HOW MANY TIMES DID SHE PERFORATED UTERUS DURING HER CAREER, SHE REFUSED TO ANSWER

The first appointment Nevin Lam was very late, very impersonal, gave very brief answers to my questions, and forgot to tell me I had a UTI (I was later told by my midwife that in my transferred files there was a note to prescribe me some medicine for it, medicine that was never prescribed). The second appointment I waited 1 hour past my scheduled appointment in a room FULL of women and children, and then we all witnessed Nevin Lam run out of the office because she'd forgotten she had a c-section scheduled. All of us who had waited were then given about ten minutes of time by a snarky doctor who is a part of her team, a short man with glasses who scoffed at my questions about natural birth, and when I said I wanted to have an interventionless birth he said "They all say that" and rolled his eyes. When I mentioned I was interested in water birth he continued to scoff, and when I asked if he had ever attended one he had to admit he had not. He then proceeded to tell me that despite the fact that my OPTIONAL Down Syndrome test had returned negative (my baby had a 1 in 6400 chance of DS, the test is never 0 chance), he pointed out that one of the percentages they test for was a little high, "it probably means nothing", but they'll need to have me in for ultrasounds and blood work EVERY WEEK? And I'll have to be induced exactly on my due date, despite the fact that most first time mothers go well past 40 weeks, and induction can cause fetal distress, giving the doctors and excuse for C SECTION? Hmm. Interesting. All this over a percentage of a test that came back negative, that I wasn't even required to take.
