I was worried to see Dr. Brace because of the reviews I had read about him, but I was quite surprised to find that he is a very kind and caring man. Makes you feel very comfortable in his office and makes your appointment feel more just like a friendly chat or conversation. Diagnosed me accurately and was very supportive. He referred me to several support groups and was sure to book followup appointments. At my second appointment he introduced me to Mindfulness Meditation. He also mentioned that he truly believes that through practices like these that one day I may be able to reduce or maybe even STOP my medication. This, of course, made me very happy and hopeful to try these new practices in hopes that one day I will not be reliant on drugs - an idea uncommon by just visiting my GPs who are very quick to just prescribe any medication that might make me feel a bit better. Very pleased with Dr. Brace and would highly recommend him. I am excited to practice my Mindfulness and to follow up with Dr. Brace.

Knew his stuff, acted professional... but straight out told me he was bias against my condition and doesn't like treating it with medication. The rest of the appointment became an interrogation with everything I said twisted into a reason why medication would be terrible. Tried to say I was jumping into this decision until I reminded him I'd done the counseling thing for almost a year with little improvement in that area. Reduced me to tears, although in his defense he did back off after that other than the odd off hand comment about how he doesn't like prescribing meds. I felt terrible when I left his office, even if I go a script to try. I didn't feel like I could be open with him, which means a lot of my concerns when unvoiced.

My family dr sent me out to your horrible run disgrace of a clinic in st.johns, NL and i never been so mistreated by a so called health care"professional" in my life. Dr. Alec Wayne Brace is one of the worst persons i ever witnessed in my life. The reputation of this man online speaks for itself. I DO NOT RECOMMEND WASTING YOUR WITH HIM or their money scamming clinic.
